Running Toilets
The good old plunger is probably the most overlooked plumbing tool a homeowner has.
I have been to countless service calls that could have been prevented by using the plunger by the toilet or under the sink.
I had a lady in Buckhead that called me one day to remove a clog in her kitchen sink.
She was really nice until I pulled out my plunger and stuffed a rag into the other side of the sink and started plunging away.
Well it broke loose in less than a minute. She was angry because I cleared that sink so fast.
I charged her exactly what I had quoted her on the phone.
She told me she didn't think I should have put that dirty plunger from my plumbing van in her kitchen sink and that the price was outrageous for such a small amount of work.
I backed off the price a little bit and left.
I decided from that day forward I would never carry a plunger on my van because it would leave a bad taste in a homeowners mouth and I don't want to lose customers I want to retain them.
Now I just use the homeowners plunger and explain to them prior to using their plunger not to get mad at the amount of time this is going to take.
So here is the easiest plumbing tip I can give you. Use your plunger until you have sweat pouring from your brow then call us.
